I completed my Ashtanga Vinyasa training in 2019 and, as a competitive CrossFit athlete, I went on to explore yoga for athletes. I love weaving movements from my training background into classes, creating a dynamic practice that brings together strength, movement, and breath.
My classes are lighthearted yet challenging, with plenty of support and personalised cues to help you explore how your body responds to each pose and develop a practice that feels right for you.
When I’m not teaching, you’ll usually find me outdoors, lifting weights at the gym, or training for my next competition.
I also offer 1:1 sessions tailored to your needs, so you can really focus your practice on you.
Ella has spent most of her life in movement through dance and yoga, and has always taught and practiced dynamic based practices, starting with Ashtanga and then branching off to Rocket, Dharma and more recently RocketBeats. If you’ve been to one of Ella’s classes before, you’ll know that they are on the pacey and perhaps firey side of yoga, yet she always encourages students that the practice is a mindful one and accessible to everyone, if you’re willing to embrace the challenge and not compare yourself to others. Ella enjoys teaching drills, inversions and the development of foundational yoga poses towards skills/asanas found in the practice.
As a practitioner who’s spent a lot of hours being taught by the best yoga teachers around, Ella wants to bring the highest quality of yoga to the north and to YoBalance, channelling their skills and energy into sharing her unique expression of the practice.
From my early years in ballet to teaching yoga for the past eight years, movement and music have always been central to my life. I am qualified in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, and I offer a modified, accessible approach where the poses are adapted to each individual’s body. I love to explore creativity in movement, blending natural flow with knowledge of anatomy and alignment. For me, yoga is a way of life to create freedom, and feel amazing—not just on the mat, but in everyday life. My teaching is inspired by the belief that yoga offers both physical and mental wellbeing, with benefits that ripple far beyond the practice space.
Originally from Canada, I’ve made Yorkshire my home for the past several years, where I share my passion for movement through Pilates. With a background in teaching, I bring clarity, encouragement, and structure to every class.
My sessions blend Pilates, barre, and strength training to create dynamic, full-body workouts that build strength, balance, and confidence.
Whether you’re a beginner or looking to deepen your practice, my goal is to help you move with energy and ease—both in class and in everyday life.
I have trained, competed and coached in a variety of sports for over 10 years; including Dance, Gymnastics and most recently CrossFit. I am strongly passionate about moving the body well, getting stronger – all whilst having fun and making friends.
I regularly do CrossFit training myself, I know the benefits mentally as-well as physically that regular training brings and this is why I enjoy providing this to others. I’m really looking forwards to bringing more knowledge into my skill set. We are very excited to begin our Sweat and Sculpt classes at YoBalance and this will bring something new for our members in the already wonderful space.
I’m a keen fitness enthusiast who enjoys low impact strength training. I have loved Barre for years and feel so privileged to be teaching at a studio as special as Yobalance. Currently studying Nutrition BSc at the University of Leeds, I have a passion for everything wellness and feel like this studio is the perfect place to deliver a fun, dynamic class to such a lovely community of people.
I always think of the mat as a sanctuary – an oasis in life’s troubles where you can find peace in movement and meditation. I have practiced a variety of different types of yoga for the past 30 years and have found something to enjoy in them all but I am particularly fond of flows and drills. As a teacher I aim to help you find your own enjoyment in the practice but what I find universal among practitioners is the community it builds and how it supports not just a healthy body but also a healthy mind. It really is a great antidote to the pressures of modern life.
My main job involves sitting at a computer and long commutes and yoga has helped me not only with the pressures of my role but also the aches and pains brought on by working life. I aim to bring in movement and strengthening exercises that facilitate functional movement in a creative and fun way.
When I am not at work and I am not teaching and practicing yoga (my husband says he is a yoga widow) I enjoy cooking and eating, walking with my dog Herbie and any activity in or by the sea. Yoga by the sea is my idea of bliss!
I have completed a 200 hour Vinyasa teacher training course at Heather Yoga and Menoyoga ® with Sally Parkes Yoga, both are registered with the Yoga Alliance and I am fully insured.
I’m a Level 3 Personal Trainer with a passion for strength training and helping people feel powerful in their bodies. I specialise in kettlebell training and hold a Nuffield Kettlebell qualification, with years of experience both using kettlebells and coaching group classes.
I’m all about building real strength through proper technique and progressive training. Whether you’re picking up a kettlebell for the first time or looking to take your lifting to the next level, my goal is to coach you with confidence, challenge you, and help you unlock what you’re truly capable of.
